Your Guide to the Edmond School District

As a parent, you want to ensure that your children have access to the best education available. Here in Edmond, there are no shortage of wonderful public schools to choose from. The Edmond Public School District is the 3rd largest school district in Oklahoma with over 25,000 students and has been named "#1 for Best School Districts in Oklahoma", "#2 Best School Districts for Athlete in Oklahoma", and "#3 Districts with the Best Teachers in Oklahoma" by 


Elementary Schools

In the Edmond Public School District, there are seventeen elementary schools. Depending upon the school, your child could start school at one of three different start times. Some of the A+ rated elementary schools in Edmond include Washington Irving Elementary School, Centennial Elementary School, and Heritage Elementary School. 

The #2 Best Public Elementary School in Oklahoma according to Niche is Washington Irving Elementary School in Edmond. Their students benefit from small classroom sizes and talented teachers that have worked to help their students achieve a 92% proficiency in reading and an 88% proficiency in mathematics.  Parents love Washington Irving Elementary because of it's Action Based Learning Program

Named the #544 Best Public Elementary School in America out of 50,486 schools across the country, Centennial Elementary School is a great choice for your child. With a strong focus on reading and mathematics, it comes as no surprise that students share a 94% proficiency in both according to their state test scores. Centennial Elementary School teachers have also been recognized by Niche as the #6 Best Public Elementary School Teachers in Oklahoma

Heritage Elementary School located off of E Sorghum Mill Rd is another A+ rated school in Edmond. It was just ranked #3 Best Public Elementary School in Oklahoma by Niche. Their 528 students enjoy small class sizes with a 18:1 student-teacher ratio. Small classroom sizes and outstanding state test scores make Heritage Elementary another wonderful option for your little one. 


Middle Schools 

There are six middle schools located within the Edmond School District including Cheyenne Middle School, Summit Middle School, Sequoyah Middle School, Cimarron Middle School, Central Middle School, and Heartland Middle School. The three top middle schools in Edmond include: 

Cheyenne Middle School has less than 1,000 students in grades 6-8 and was just named the #2 Best Public Middle School in Oklahoma by Niche. Their students enjoy small class sizes and an amazing Technology Student Association which focuses on growth, leadership, and opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. 

At the A+ rated Summit Middle School, students are 84% proficient in reading and 83% in mathematics. There is a 19: 1 teacher-student ratio and the school has been named #4 Best Public Middle School in Oklahoma and #11 Best Public Middle School Teachers in Oklahoma by Niche. Students love attending Summit Middle School because of it's caring teachers and diversity across campus. 

Sequoyah Middle School has been named #5 Best Public Middle School in Oklahoma and #7 Best Public Middle School Teachers in Oklahoma by Niche. Their 1,300 students in grades 6-8 have a 91% proficiency in mathematics and an 89% proficiency in reading according to state test scores. The students at Sequoyah Middle School take pride in attending one of the top 300 best public schools in America!


High Schools

Edmond Public School District has three high schools: Santa Fe High School, North High School, and Memorial High School. Santa Fe High School is a top-rated high school with over 2,200 students in grades 9-12. It was ranked #5 Best High School Sports in Oklahoma and #6 Best Public High School in Oklahoma by Niche.  With an 18: 1 student-teacher ratio, it's no surprise that Santa Fe High School is A+ rated. 

Named #8 Best Public High School in Oklahoma and #7 Best Public High School Teachers in Oklahoma by Niche, North High School is a wonderful school for your teen. The school has a 91% proficiency in both reading and mathematics and an average graduation rate of 95%. Many students that attend North High School continue their educations at the University of Oklahoma or Oklahoma State University. 

Memorial High School was just named #4 Best Public High School in Oklahoma and #4 Best College Prep Public High School in Oklahoma by Niche. This A+ rated school has over 2,100 students that are 90% proficient in both reading and math. Students love attending Memorial High School because of their great art program and sports teams. 


Alternative Education Program 

Through the alternative education program offered at Boulevard Academy, students can earn credits towards  graduation in a smaller, more focused learning environment. Boulevard Academy accepts any students that have fallen behind on their graduation requirements and are in need of an alternative to traditional high schools. The school currently offers six-week semesters, block scheduling, smaller class sizes, counseling, and both direct and online learning opportunities.
